LACROIX Electronics

In today’s economic environment, the Electronics activity of LACROIX shows its ability to recover and its audacity: the company is expanding its Polish factory by 16,000 m2. This investment is one aspect of LACROIX’s strategy of reinforcing its research and development as well as its production capacities. In the meantime, the construction of SYMBIOSE, the future smart electronic factory in France, is starting. The innovative technologies in both facilities will enable the Electronics activity of LACROIX to maintain the flexibility, agility and competitiveness required to meet the future expectations of the Smart Industry.

Production process optimization

SYMBIOSE, the industry 4.0 plant planned for the end of 2021, has recently started its construction in France. Larger than the current plant, it will increase its industrial capacity by 60% reaching 19 000m², with the same level of jobs as today.

SYMBIOSE is an integral part of our strategic plan. Convinced that technological performance, social innovation and respect for the environment can go hand in hand, we are pursuing this major project in this spirit.

At the same time, the Polish plant of LACROIX, specialized in the automotive, industrial and home & building automation markets, is expanding to optimize its supply chain, increase capacity and further modernize and digitalize its production. The new extension, totaling 16 000 m² and located 500m from the existing plant will more than double the current 14 000m².

While the current building retains its specialization in electronic products for the automotive market, the plant extension will be dedicated to industrial and home automation products. Beyond expanding the factory, the company has acquired two new automated production SMT lines, which will be installed by the end of the year.

The extension of the LACROIX plant in Poland is a wonderful news for our customers. The shift will help us optimize our production capacities and position ourselves on new business opportunities. The proximity of the 2 plants, with just a 500m distance gives meaning to our daily industrial activity.

The development of innovative solutions

In addition to technological and business performance, training and coaching of teams play a key role in the optimization process. In the frame of the SYMBIOSE project, some employees were able to benefit from more than a year of training to be directly operational during the move and thus bring all their added value.

Concerning the new extension in Poland, training will be brought to the forefront too: a training center will be effectively dedicated to the organization of seminars and conferences in order to promote employee skills development. Finally, reinforcing the digitalization and robotization of production capacities are key. The ambition of this extension is to be able to best fit to the expectations and needs of customers and prospects: the existing industrial laboratory will be moved and enlarged in the new building to do so.
