LACROIX Electronics

The aim is to rethink and optimise the electronics industry by automating and digitalising production means and by building a reliable ecosystem, while at the same time taking into account environmental issues and quality of life at work.

5G: new developments for new uses

In 2016, the project to transform the French factory of the Electronics activity of LACROIX was awarded the “Future Industry Showcase” label by the Future Industry Alliance. 4 years later, LACROIX announced the SYMBIOSE project for building a new electronics plant, firmly committed to Smart Industry, by 2021 to turn its ambitions into reality.

5G supports the development of intelligent data

Upstream of building its electronics factory of the future in France, the Electronics activity of LACROIX has launched an experimental phase of 5G in co-innovation with Orange to determine the industrial applications of this new technology. Unsurprisingly, there are countless possibilities. In innovative mobile technology, 5G supports the development of intelligent data by transporting ever-increasing volumes of data, significantly reducing latency times and making data transfers secure.

Ensuring the redundancy of the existing network to secure Machine-to-Machine communications, making ultra-fast data transfers to enable real-time and remote monitoring of production indicators; these are just some of the concrete applications of 5G that we at LACROIX are currently testing with our partner.

Stéphane Klajzyngier

Orange supports us in building the electronics industry of the future, allowing us to look even further ahead as regards data transfer and use thanks to a communication protocol tailored to the needs of future companies. The strength of an industrial company like ours also rests on the ability of its partners to innovate, and we are pleased to be one of the first manufacturers to test 5G in France.
